At Actors Assembly, our faculty brings together decades of combined experience in theatre, cinema, and professional acting training. Each mentor is a practitioner someone who has worked in the industry and now dedicates themselves to shaping the next generation of actors.

Sanjay Kumar Sahu & Academic Head

Sanjay Kumar Sahu is an actor, acting mentor, and a graduate of the Film and Television Institute of India (Acting Batch 2016). With over 20 years of experience spanning theatre, cinema, and actor training, he brings deep artistic and industry insight to his work.

He began his journey with folk theatre in Chhattisgarh and later completed a Master's in Theatre Arts & Film Studies from Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya. His screen work includes notable projects such as Black, White & Grey, Lantrani, and Batla House.

He has trained 1,000+ aspiring actors across India and has also served as a faculty member at Balaji ICE Institute of Creative Excellence. Through Actors Assembly, he focuses on rigorous craft-based training combined with real industry exposure, helping students develop not just skill but a true artistic identity.

Shashi Bhushan - FTII ( Visiting Faculty )

Shashi Bhushan is an actor from Muzaffarpur, Bihar, with a strong academic and artistic foundation. He completed his schooling at The Scindia School, Gwalior, followed by a B.Com (Hons) from Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), University of Delhi, before pursuing his passion for performance at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, where he was part of the 2006 batch. His training at one of India’s most prestigious film institutions shaped him into a versatile and disciplined performer with a deep understanding of the craft.

As a mentor, Shashi believes that every student is unique and that no single method works for everyone. His teaching philosophy is rooted in individual attention and one-to-one learning, where he takes the time to understand each student personally and works collaboratively with them to grow according to their own strengths and potential. He has conducted workshops and masterclasses as part of his professional practice, and at Actors Assembly he brings that same personalised, student-first approach to help every aspiring actor find and develop their own authentic voice.

Alok Arora Visiting Faculty

Alok Arora is an experienced acting trainer and theatre practitioner dedicated to guiding aspiring actors through practical and performance-oriented training. His approach focuses on building confidence, emotional truth, and a strong understanding of character in every student he mentors.

Through workshops and classroom training, he helps students develop stage presence, improvisation skills, and camera awareness while nurturing their individual artistic voice. His sessions are known for their energy, depth, and ability to push students beyond their comfort zones.

Amit Tiwari Visiting Faculty

Amit Tiwari is an actor known for his work in Indian cinema and television. With extensive on-screen experience, he brings invaluable industry insight to aspiring actors at Actors Assembly.

At Actors Assembly, he shares practical knowledge about audition techniques, camera acting, and the professional discipline required to succeed in the film and television industry. His sessions bridge the gap between training and the real demands of the industry, giving students a genuine edge.

Gagan Shrivastava Visiting Faculty

Gagan Shrivastava is a Mumbai-based actor, performance maker, and acting pedagogue with over two decades of experience in theatre. An alumnus of Goldsmiths, University of London, the National School of Drama (New Delhi), and the Madhya Pradesh School of Drama (Bhopal), he has worked with leading directors including Kavalam Narayana Panikkar, Neelam Mansingh Chowdhry, Firoz Abbas Khan, Anna Furse, and Mario Biagini. His practice weaves together methodologies of Grotowski, Michael Chekhov, and Meisner with body-based disciplines such as Kalarippayattu, Yoga, and Butoh.

As a performance maker, Shrivastava creates devised, interdisciplinary work that explores themes of identity, loneliness, gender, and human relationships through original productions such as Apno Ghar, We Individuals, and As We Are, as well as adaptations including Boro Hor Mar Chuka Hai (after Athol Fugard) and Uss Paar Ke Log (after Arthur Miller). He treats the actor as a thinking co-creator, building theatre that is intellectually rigorous and viscerally immediate. He also serves as visiting faculty at the Madhya Pradesh School of Drama and Tagore University, Bhopal.

Mukti R Das Visiting Faculty

Mukti R Das is a theatre and film actor trained at the National School of Drama, New Delhi. His performances have taken him across the globe, and he has worked with some of the most respected directors in Indian and international theatre, including Anuradha Kapoor, Neelam Mansingh Chowdhry, Jeffrey Sichel, Devid Jinder, and Annie Ruth.

On screen, he has appeared in notable projects including Deepa Mehta’s Anatomy of Violence (2016), which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, the Netflix survival drama Kaala Paani (2023), and Soch A Perception (2024). He has also previously served as faculty at An Actor Prepares in Mumbai, one of India’s most respected acting institutes.

At Actors Assembly, Mukti brings his deep grounding in classical theatre training and international performance experience to help students develop truthful, disciplined, and fully embodied performances.
